The Community Foundation of Carroll County (CFCC) is a charitable public foundation, established by community stakeholders throughout Carroll County, Iowa.

Sac County Endowment Foundation

$1,427,050

The Sac County Endowment Foundation (“SCEF”) was founded in 2004 to manage funds provided to Sac County from the State of Iowa County Endowment Fund Program. This program distributes a percentage of the state’s gaming tax revenue each year to the counties in Iowa that do not have a state issued gaming license facility. These funds are to be used for charitable purposes within Sac County. Seventy-five percent (75%) of those funds will be granted each year to various groups in Sac County with the remainder of the funds being funneled into a permanent endowment for the benefit of Sac County residents.

Every fall/winter, the SCEF accepts grant applications from Sac County governmental and 501(c)3 organizations for projects benefiting the citizens of Sac County. Requirements for these grants include:

  • The Grantee must match 100% of the SCEF grant funds requested for the project. Example: a grant request for $10,000 must be matched by $10,000 or more in other funding.
  • Granted funds are generally to be used for infrastructure or capital projects, not for program funding.
  • Grant projects are to generally expected to be completed within a calendar year of receiving the grant funds.
  • Recipients of grant funds are to file a final report with the SCEF with receipts for projects expenses, a description of how the granted funds were used and how the funds benefited Sac County citizens.
  • Photos of completed projects are to be sent in jpeg form (preferably with the projects in use) to amenzel@iowasavingsbank.com.
